Understanding the User Interface

The Infinity Creator UI is designed to be intuitive and workflow-efficient, organizing essential tools into dedicated Views. This guide breaks down the key areas of the interface.

Top Section: Menu Bar & Views Header Menu

1. Menu Bar (Top Bar)

Located at the very top, the Menu Bar contains operational controls for managing the application.

Main Menu Options:

  • File - Create, open, save, and export projects.
  • Edit - Undo, redo, and general editing commands.
  • View - Customize UI layout, Views, and display settings.
  • Components - Create procedural components and access the component library.
  • Window - Contains available themes.
  • Help - Open documentation, tutorials, and support.

2. Toolbar (Below Menu Bar)

Directly below the Menu Bar, the Toolbar contains essential workspace controls.

Elements in the Toolbar:

  • Workspaces Selector - Switch between different UI layouts.
  • Run Core (Center Button) - Runs the all systems in the core, displays settings from the attached gear button and displays seed.
  • Deploy Button (Right End) - Attached gear button directs to deploy settings, main button deploys core.

Left Section: Toolbox, & Asset Views

This section helps manage project structure and resources.

3. Toolbox View (Left-Side)

  • Contains the Nodes, Templates, and Utilities tabs.
  • Contains categories of nodes for procedural generation.
  • Drag & drop nodes into the Node Graph.
  • Includes Foundation, Math, Noise, Objects, Images, Landscapes, and Text tools.

4. Assets View (Hidden Behind Toolbox View)

  • Stores imported and generated assets.
  • Drag assets directly into the Node Graph or Visualizer.
  • Right-click to import, delete, or manage assets.

Center Section: 3D Scene, Node Graph & Logs

The central workspace for designing and testing procedural systems.

5. 3D Scene View (Top-Center)

  • Displays real-time previews of procedural systems.
  • Adjust parameters and see instant updates.
  • Use camera controls for navigation.

6. Node Graph View (Bottom-Center)

  • The core of procedural design, where nodes are connected.
  • Drag nodes from the Toolbox and link them to build logic.
  • Modify node properties in the Inspector View.

7. Logs View (Hidden Behind Node Graph View)

  • Stores debug messages, warnings, and errors.
  • Can be expanded when needed for troubleshooting.

Right Section: Inspector View

Dedicated to modifying properties of selected elements.

8. Hierarchy View (Top-Right)

  • Displays the scene structure.
  • Lists nodes, objects, and procedural elements in the project.
  • Right-click to add, remove, reorder, or rename elements.

9. Inspector View (Full Right-Side)

  • Displays properties of the selected node, object, or View.
  • Adjust size, position, parameters, and procedural values.
  • Auto-updates based on the selected item.
